A long lived, evergreen tree with attractive, silvery-grey foliage and a grey trunk which becomes gnarled with age. Creamy-white small flowers produced during spring are followed by green fruit which ripen to black through summer and autumn.
Varieties such as: Barouni, Hojiblanca, Kalamata Manzanillo, Picholine and Volos are all known for their excellent textures and flavours when processed as table olives. Manzanillo is grown widely throughout California and Southern Spain and would be regarded as one of the world’s most important table fruit varieties.
The oil varieties: Arbequina, Barnea, Coratina, Correggiola, Frantoio, Koroneiki, Leccino and Picual contain a high percentage of quality oil and are the most commonly selected for Australian groves specialising in olive oil production.

The hardy olive trees are 12 to 15cm tall (above the pot), sun hardened and ready to plant. After the event your guests can plant the trees in their garden or transfer them into a larger pot and grow them in a courtyard or on a balcony. Olives are easy to grow and maintain and can survive for hundreds of years. We have a range of olive varieties available year round that include Greek, Italian and Spanish selections as well as non-fruiting types.
Olives thrive in well-drained soil in full sun, and tolerate coastal exposure, drought and light frost. Avoid water logged soil. Maximum fruit production is achieved when watered well during flower and fruit formation. Ensure container plants are watered regularly. Apply fertilizer high in nitrogen in autumn and spring.
